The Test Case Management (TCM) process app helps your quality assurance team to manage their tests and test runs. Test cases can be monitored through the workflow with allows reporting on the status of those tests.

  • Business Problem

Managing test cases, their relationship to certain applications or suites, and the statuses of any executions is necessary for running an effective QA department. Maintaining reports and analyzing failures of tests is critical for providing quality product. These activities can be time consuming and cumbersome, especially when attempted across multiple systems.

    Benefits

The TCM Test Library application manages all of your tests and test cases which will be used by your QA department. This workflow allows you to tell which tests have been reviewed and are ready for use by your testers. It allows you to revise or remove older tests, noting where the test is no longer valid.

The TCM Test Run application manages the actual battery of tests that are run. It allows for running of individual tests and sets of tests, which includes the details about the environment, server, and other necessary details. Subtasks are created to track each of the tests and when completed, the parent test run task moves to the completed state, signifying that all tests have been completed.

    Features

    • Repository of tests used by the QA department
    • Test Run Sets allow for running multiple tests with relevant environmental details
    • Reports included in TCM keep employees up-to-date with the current status of tests and free managers from having to manually update reports.

Check the default values entered in the orchestrations.

For example: CreateTestCaseExecution orchestration: Working Data element-ProjectName....The default value does NOT match what is deployed by default.

Correct value: Base Project||Test Case Execution Project
Note: If you have renamed “Base Project” then update that value so that it matches your system’s name.

Also note that the orchestrations are built to use a service account. So in the Working Data elements you will need to define a user id and password of a service account that you would like to use. The other option is to execute the orchestrations with the user id executing the transition that triggers the orchestrations. In this case, you will have a little more work to do to remove the reference the working data elements from the web service calls.
